The Only Jesus lyrics

He stumbled in the Quik Stop, scared us all to death
When he cursed at me for staring, smelt the liquor on his breath
As I felt my anger rising, you know the thought occurred to me,
I might be the only Jesus he will ever see

So I turned to him and smiled, yes he thought that I was strange
When I said I ll pray for you, and offered him some change
I couldn t help but wonder, as he stared back at me
I might be the only Jesus he will ever see.

CHORUS:
And who am I to judge him, don t know what he s been through
If I read the Bible right, it s only something God can do.
If I can help him out of darkness, let him see the light in me,
I might be the only Jesus he will ever see.

I went back outside to the car, with my wife and kids
I felt like we were followed, turned around and it was him
Though he didn t say a word, oh it really got to me..
..when he looked at me and smiled...

INSTRUMENTAL

CHORUS:
And who am I to judge him, don t know what he s been through
If I read the Bible right, it s only something God can do
If I can help him out of darkness, let him see the light in me,
I might be the only Jesus he will ever see.
I might be the only Jesus he will ever see.
