In My Soul lyrics

feel the vibration, my soul awakened
turn off the radio connect the pod start playing
cause soul music is about risk taking
and putting all my heart and soul into the creation
so if i worry too much about the payment
if I just worry but all the dough I ll be making
then man, that s when I ll know I m mistaken
when prostitution becomes my sole (soul) occupation
people looking starved, say they already ate
well lets look at what s being served on ya plate
I start investing time into digesting
without any question to the chef s direction
but now I know it when I hear it
the sound and the lyrics that speak to my spirit
I m sayin, I want to feel it in my chest
when the beat drops I nod my head yes
put a hand in the sky for the boom bap
or I can get down with a soul clap
I love the type of track that I keep bringing back
real food for the soul and we all need that

CHORUS:
I need to feel it in my soul
take me where I want to go
bringing it back give me some more
let the music that control
you can feel it all over, feel it all over
feel it all over, I feel it in my soul
you can feel it all over, feel it all over
feel it all over, I feel it in my soul

yes yes yall i gotta story to tell
I ma take you to the place where the soul music dwell
take you to the basement, where you find records
just sittin on the shelf, a place I know well
it s like that man, I remember back when
before I ever had thought to start rappin
I was singing in the choir, lifting my voice higher
which I guess would explain why I
keep doing this, musically influenced by
that soul music my folks amply supplied
it was always just playing in the house
so I loved just staying in, playing in the house
as a kid, I would listen to my father
sitting on his lap and that marked the start of
my own journey, a natural transition
from jazz to soul, r&b I would listen
and hip-hop, a draft of history
sample the past then add a little bit of me
so with each track I take what I ve learned to give back
cause I don t mind making what I earn

CHORUS:
I need to feel it in my soul
take me where I want to go
bringing it back give me some more
let the music that control
you can feel it all over, feel it all over
feel it all over, I feel it in my soul
you can feel it all over, feel it all over
feel it all over, I feel it in my soul
